Paris  Drawings  2016

The initial aim of my residency at the Cité International des Arts in Paris in 2016 was to focus on the historical collections at the Musée de l’Armée in Paris, documenting and sketching various construction and display methods used for armour and weaponry.

The Rosamond McCulloch Studio is not designed as a workshop in the sculptural sense, so I made the decision to concentrate on small detailed drawings that I could realise in three dimensions when I returned to Tasmania

The following drawings are my response to this new and stimulating urban environment. Some drawings will progress to sculptures, others will remain a record of my observations of the Paris cityscape.
